Cricket's three formats and Bangladesh's favourite competitions

Cricket in Bangladesh is more than a sport — it is a passion. At f bajji you can bet across three main formats: T20, One Day International (ODI) and Test match. Each format has its own pace and strategy, and the types of bets available differ for each.

T20: The fastest and most intense format. Matches end in just 20 overs, so odds shift quickly. BPL (Bangladesh Premier League) is Bangladesh's most popular T20 tournament, and IPL draws equal enthusiasm from fans here. Every Bangladesh Tigers match at the T20 World Cup brings its own excitement.

ODI: In this 50-over format, betting markets expand further as the match progresses. Team performance, pitch conditions and weather all factor into the calculations.

Test: The five-day match offers the most betting opportunities. New markets open with every innings and every session. Betting while watching Bangladesh fight in the ICC World Test Championship makes the experience far more engaging.

f bajji BPL cricket match betting options

Alongside cricket, football betting is also available at f bajji. In football, a draw is a separate outcome, so the match winner market typically has three options (Team A win, draw, Team B win). In limited-overs cricket there is no draw — only a win or a loss. In Test cricket a draw is possible, appearing as a third outcome in the market. Football fans in Bangladesh can also bet on international leagues. Those looking for a different experience can check out virtual sports betting.

Popular betting markets and how they work

In cricket, betting goes beyond just the match result — a variety of markets make it more diverse.

Match Winner

Bet on which team will win the match. In a T20 between Team A and Team B, everyone who backed Team A collects if Team A wins. The most straightforward market.

Simple

Toss Winner

Predict which team will win the toss before the match begins. This is an independent market with no connection to the match result.

Before the start

Top Batsman

Bet on which batter will score the most runs. If the batter you pick scores highest in the team's innings, you win the bet.

Requires knowledge

Total Runs Over/Under

Predict whether the total runs in an innings or a full match will be above or below a set number — for example, whether total runs will exceed 170.

Analysis needed

Top Bowler / Wickets

Bet on which bowler will take the most wickets in the match. The mix of pace and spin and the nature of the pitch play a big part here.

Multi Bet

You can combine multiple selections from multiple matches into a single multi bet. If all selections are correct the return is much higher, but one wrong selection loses the entire bet.

How to read odds — three formats

Odds on betting sites are displayed in three different formats: decimal, fractional and American. f bajji generally uses the decimal format, but it is useful to understand all three.

Format Odds for Team A win Meaning
Decimal 2.25 Total return of ৳2,250 on a ৳1,000 bet (profit ৳1,250 + stake ৳1,000)
Fractional 5/4 ৳5 profit for every ৳4 staked; ৳1,250 profit on a ৳1,000 bet
American +125 Plus means ৳125 profit on a ৳100 bet; total return of ৳2,250 on a ৳1,000 bet

Example 1 — Team A wins: Decimal 2.25 = Fractional 5/4 = American +125. A winning ৳1,000 bet returns ৳2,250 in total (profit ৳1,250 plus the ৳1,000 stake back); if the bet loses, ৳1,000 is gone.

Example 2 — Favourite Team B wins: Decimal 1.80 = Fractional 4/5 = American -125. A minus sign in the American format shows how much you need to stake to win ৳100. A ৳1,000 bet returns ৳1,800 in total (profit ৳800).

All three formats carry the same information — only the way they are written differs. Decimal is generally the easiest because multiplying the stake directly gives the total return.

Calculating a multi bet

When you place a multi bet across three matches, the odds are multiplied together. For example, if three selections have odds of 1.40, 1.70 and 1.90, multiplying them gives approximately 4.52.

Stake ৳100
Total odds ×4.52
Total return (if all win) ৳452

If even one of the three selections is wrong, the full ৳100 is lost.

Live betting — betting while the match is on

Live In-Play

Live betting in cricket is the most fast-moving. The odds on a team before the match begins can change in an instant when a wicket falls. Three wickets in five overs pushes the chasing team's odds up and brings the bowling team's odds down.

In over-by-over markets you can place a separate bet on how many runs will be scored in each over. Whether it is aggressive batting in the powerplay or finishing in the final over, new opportunities arise every moment.

In Test matches, session-based markets are available. Pitches tend to favour bowlers in the morning session and batters in the afternoon — these shifts are reflected directly in the live odds.

Things to keep in mind before betting

Betting is entertainment. Starting with the right mindset keeps the experience positive. Betting is never a guaranteed source of income.

01

Bet with an understanding of the format

T20, ODI and Test each move at a different pace. In T20, the odds on a team that makes a fast start drop quickly. In Test cricket, wickets in the first session can change the outlook of the entire match.

02

Set a budget

Decide how much you are willing to spend before each betting session and stay within that limit. More guidance is available on the responsible gaming page.

03

Keep your multi bet selections small

More selections in a multi bet mean a higher potential return — but one wrong selection loses everything. Keeping it to 2–3 selections is the sensible approach.

04

Stay patient in live betting

Odds change fast during a match. Rather than rushing into a decision, take a moment to read the situation.

05

Know the terms and conditions

Read the terms and conditions before placing a bet so you have a clear understanding of how markets are settled.

06

Treat it as entertainment

Betting can be enjoyable and adds to the fun of a win, but never risk a large amount in the expectation of a guaranteed profit.

Frequently asked questions

The pace and number of markets differ across the three formats. In T20, matches finish in 20 overs, so odds shift quickly and live betting is most intense. In ODI, the 50-over game opens up mid-match markets such as first innings score. In Test cricket, session-based markets allow for more analytical betting — though with matches lasting five days, more patience is needed.

Since BPL (Bangladesh Premier League) is a T20-format league, it offers a wide range of bets including match winner, toss winner, top batsman, top bowler, total runs over/under, and in-play markets. Markets on sixes, wickets, or scores in specific overs may also be available.

Both methods carry the same information — only the way they are written differs. Decimal odds show the total return directly: 2.25 means a total return of ৳2,250 on a ৳1,000 bet (profit ৳1,250 + stake ৳1,000). Fractional odds show only the profit: 5/4 means ৳5 profit for every ৳4 staked. Most people find decimal odds easier because multiplying the stake gives the total return immediately.

When a wicket falls, the batting team's chances of winning drop, so their odds increase (meaning a higher potential return, but also higher risk). The bowling team's odds shorten because their chances of winning improve. The more wickets fall, or the higher the required run rate in a chase, the faster the odds move. In live betting, these changes can happen within seconds.

The biggest difference is the number of possible outcomes. In football there are three — win, draw or loss — so the match winner market has three options. In T20 and ODI cricket there is no draw, only two possible outcomes, which simplifies the market. In Test cricket a draw is possible, giving three outcomes again. Cricket also has many batsman- and bowler-specific markets that do not exist in football.
